Classic boosted Marshall sounds is unbeatable. Nothing can replace it. Their first attempt at a boosted Marshall from the factory. Looks good, sounds good, underrated. Nice metal from you!

What are your settings

I have all my switches on and a few different cheap overdrive pedals for boost , sounds good. I hate having so many parameters so I just left it there. I need to figure out how to get good clean for my pedals and my own dirt since there aint no normal channel switching...

Flat and empty...

I had this amp in the early 90's and missed it. I finally got the SNK VH300 (300 watt VH140C clone amp) and it's amazing sounding! It sounds the same as this but way louder and with the added presence and resonance controls it cuts through better. It feels good to finally have the best gain tone ever produced again.

Do you prefer this pedal with the switch up at 1 or down at 2 and why??

I think they used EMG 81's into a Marshall Valvestate. Searching has revealed that Scott Burns used a Marshall 4x12 with 25 Watt Greenbacks a lot in the early days. No idea what mics or placements. Rumor has it there was a metal zone in front of the amp but I can't seem to make that work I'm having better results with a SD-1. When I use the 'Cannibal Corpse Metal zone boost settings' (Max Level, all EQ at 9 or 10 o'clock gain 0) in front of a Crate head it is absolutely The Bleeding. The metal zone into the clean channel or into the effect loop of the 8100 sounds nothing like Tomb. Can't get the Tomb tone with my Crate head either. Seems like the Bass is set 8-10, mids 2, and the contour and treble are definitely heavily coloring the tone with a heavy dose of 2.5-4k There further EQ boosting the Lows and probably cutting mid bass and fine tuning the treble then smashed with a compressor. Anyone that knows more please share.

I'm actually getting a crate a soon as a gift. not sure the exact model. at first I was doubting them due to it being primitive in terms of amps todays. but seeing videos of them as of late. These fuckers are REALLY powerful and imagining the pedals that go along with them as I progress with it since I already have them for my blackstar combo 50 watt. This video helps more cause of it being straight from the camera. hearing its original sound.

Are you using a boost here or straight in? Both sound good, Mark V has more modern voice and darker. Wizard has more mids but still sounds really tight.

Got a kemper player coming today and just bought these, cant wait to try em out! Were they profiled with the aural exciter? Also, any chance of a ToneX capture coming in the future? I've been pretty happy with my ToneX but had to buy the Kemper to compare... the G.A.S never ends!
